What is expected:

The Operations Director bears ultimate responsibility for developing and implementing our groupage transportation and logistics activities within Transuniverse and has ultimate responsibility for our Operations departments. The managers of Traffic Operations, Customs, Customer Service and Warehouse report directly to the Operations Director.

He plays a crucial role in optimizing processes, ensuring quality and stimulating growth. In doing so, the Operations Director is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the company, working closely with management.

The role includes implementing best practices to reduce costs and increase efficiency (optimize purchasing and sales processes). Analyzing operational performance and implementing improvements where necessary. You will also undertake preventive & structural actions and look for sustainable solutions. As Operations Director & COO, you ensure compliance with all legal and safety regulations and you are the point of contact in case of escalations.

 

What talents and skills are required?

  • Experience in (Groupage) transportation is necessary, as is experience in a leadership role.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills where one can coach, mentor and motivate employees.
  • Strong analytical & strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience in optimization of transportation & logistics processes.
  • Drawing up budgets combined with strong commercial insight.
  • Language skills in Dutch, French & English are required both orally and in writing.
